Fifty-five Plus Club

The Club was founded in the late 1980′s by Hartlip resident Dennis Lansdowne, who recognised the need for a social outlet for the senior citizens of this small village and the surrounding area.

The Club was very soon fully subscribed and has remained so ever since, there very often being a waiting list for membership.

Meetings are held in the Village Hall on alternate Monday evenings with speakers on a variety of subjects and “business” meetings to arrange the Club outings, holidays and larger social occasions.

The Club organises two holidays a year in Spring and Autumn, one coach outing a month between March and November and various other activities such as a Summer Garden Party and a Christmas Dinner at the local Golf Club.

The Club is now organised by Chairman Mr Dave Elliot.
